The experience begins with classic birthday portraits, followed by the cakesmash itself, and ends with our signature LDP bubble bath—a favorite with both babies and parents. Whether your vision is timeless and elegant or whimsical and over-the-top, our team will create a personalized experience that reflects your family’s style and your little one’s growing personality.
There’s no strict time limit for your cakesmash session—we structure the experience around your baby, not the clock.
We build plenty of flexibility into every session for snack breaks, naps, diaper changes, and little pauses whenever they’re needed. Children are wonderfully unpredictable, and we never rush the process. We simply move at their pace, creating a relaxed environment where genuine smiles and authentic moments can naturally unfold.
BYOC!!! Bring your own cake for the session! We recommend avoiding chocolate and red velvet, as those darker colors don’t photograph as well. Vanilla, white, pastel-colored frosting, or brightly decorated cakes typically create the most visually appealing images. Whether you choose something simple and classic or fun and elaborate, we’re excited to capture your little one’s big celebration!
We have an extensive collection of props, backdrops, and themed setups to choose from. If you have a specific theme or vision in mind, we encourage you to bring any special decorations or personalized items you’d like to incorporate into your cakesmash session to make it uniquely yours.

If your cakesmash session has a particular theme or you’ve found an outfit that makes your heart sing, we encourage you to bring it! We love blending our wardrobe with meaningful pieces that reflect your family’s style and make your baby’s first birthday celebration uniquely yours.
We completely understand that babies can be unpredictable and have short attention spans—that’s all part of the fun! We never rush and always move at their pace, giving them time to become comfortable with us before stepping in front of the camera.
Our team is happy to sing silly songs, make funny noises, use puppets, play games, and do whatever it takes to capture genuine smiles and natural expressions. It’s truly all hands on deck, and we’re committed to creating a relaxed, enjoyable experience for the whole family.
A non-refundable $125 deposit is required to secure your cakesmash session date and is applied toward your session fee. Because we book a limited number of sessions each month and often reserve dates well in advance, this deposit allows us to hold dedicated time specifically for your family.
We understand that life happens and strive to be as flexible as possible. Whenever availability allows, we are happy to accommodate reasonable reschedule requests.
Your cakesmash session fee reserves your date and includes your personalized planning consultation, access to our wardrobe collections, use of studio props and accessories, custom set design, and everything on the day of your portrait session experience.
While in studio you will have a photographer, an assistant, and your own private dressing room.
